Caesars Entertainment is a major gaming brand with a hand in all gambling services. The company is known for its iGaming sector, with options for sports betting and casino gaming. Caesars also has physical properties that players can visit, such as its New Jersey casino. This week, the company announced that in the third quarter, a new standalone online casino would launch in the Garden State and other states where licensed services are provided.

New Online Casino App in the Works

The announcement was made last week during a first-quarter earnings call, with the company stating that its online revenues continue to skyrocket. Caesars is starting to offer services in new states and continues to retain a loyal customer base with its quality gaming options and promotions.

President of Caesars Sports and Online Gaming, Eric Hession, stated that the new app is an exciting addition to the offering of the company. It will help to drive better customer engagement and focus on delivering more game content. Titles will include new proprietary options. Additional marketing efforts will also be included.

Caesars has big plans for its iGaming sector, with an in-house player-account management system coming out later in 2023. The goal is to provide a shared wallet by 2024. This will make all services seamless throughout the company’s offering.

The new online gaming app is expected to improve the slot business for Caesars. Right now, the portal operates via the sports betting app. This will offer players a chance to enjoy more content and avoid the sports betting segment if they choose. Right now, the casino side of Caesars focuses on table gaming, and a new app will help to bring in more slot gaming content.

Boosting the Company’s EBITDA

Tom Reeg, the CEO of Caesars, pointed out that if the company can get the iGaming share to equal the sports betting share, then it would be a third boost to the overall EBITDA. In the first quarter, the company’s digital earnings saw a solid improvement when compared to the previous year. Digital business basically broke even instead of seeing a major EBITDA loss. The difference was thanks to service launches in Louisiana and New York.

The performance was attributed to the targeted promotional investment towards the player base and bringing in new customers from recent state launches. Included in the mix were Massachusetts and Ohio.

Caesars continues to do quite well by way of revenues in states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Players log online in record numbers to place sports bets and play online casino games. The year may end with both states and others contributing to a huge revenue boost for the iGaming company.

What Will the New App Offer?

For members of Caesars currently, including players in New Jersey, the question now is what will the app entail? Will it be similar to the sportsbook app? It will certainly be interesting to see what the brand comes up with.

With proprietary content, players should gain access to new games that can’t be played anywhere else. We expect Caesars will also focus on new promotions for existing and new players. Everyone may have new options as the app launches the market.

An exact date has yet to be announced, but we expect one to be coming soon. Hopefully, the brand has thought out the transition and will simplify the process for players to transition from the sports betting app to the casino one. Only time will tell, but we will stay tuned to provide information on how the app operates and if it is a hit with players.
