Golden Nugget to Feature Renovated Rooms and Suites Later This Year

Golden Nugget Atlantic City is working hard to finish up the first hotel and room renovation phase by the summer season. The casino announced a few days ago that it will be done hopefully by spring to be able to welcome guests for the summer holidays. Casinos in Atlantic City are supposed to reinvest in their properties based on state laws, and Golden Nugget is pushing forward with significant changes. Guest rooms and suites are being overhauled to upgrade the guest experience.

Visitors to the New Jersey casino will find the hotel has over 700 rooms, though it is unclear how many are being renovated in the first phase. We do know that the renovations will make the rooms match the recent upgrades to Chart House and the Dos Caminos installation. 

The guest rooms will receive a full makeover and include new lighting and furniture. Bathrooms will be refinished and offer walk-in showers. A unique addition to the bedside of rooms includes USB and USB-C outlets.

The goal of Golden Nugget is to create a space that enhances the guests' overall experience. The renovations are a first for the casino in quite some time. The last time the casino made any significant changes was over ten years ago.

Golden Nugget must continue to upgrade and offer new options for visitors to be able to remain competitive with other casinos in Atlantic City. The area has nine operational casinos, each offering a major brand name and unique options.

The market is quite competitive, so adding new hotel options at the Golden Nugget is sure to appeal to overnight guests in search of a more updated space with new furnishings and in-room features.

Other casinos in Atlantic City have been busy with renovations. Last year, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced a $55 million project to redesign and rebrand The Water Club and upgrade the club's guest rooms and suites. A rebrand was also in the works for the Borgata to present guests with a new style and experience.

The Boardwalk is another area of Atlantic City that will feature a renovation. State officials recently selected 18 towns along the Jersey Shore to share $100 million for repairs, reconstruction, or expansion of boardwalk areas.

Many popular seaside resort towns like Atlantic City have boardwalks that are in disrepair. The funds will help to promote much-needed improvements to the walkways. The money was provided to the state by COVID-19 recovery funds offered by the federal government based on the American Rescue Act.

Governor Phil Murphy stated that many people have created memories with family and friends on the boards of the Jersey Shore. The boardwalks are a prized destination, and they want to use the funds to help communities with repairs and maintenance.

Atlantic City and Asbury Park will receive $20 million each as part of the refurbishment of the wooden walkways. The Atlantic City boardwalk was the first in the US after it was created way back in 1870. Today, it is a top destination for travelers heading to Atlantic City’s casinos and resort hotels.

The casinos are going to benefit from the refurbishment as well, as it will be another tourism point that the venues can promote with their guests. It is unclear how long the renovations will take, but we expect the boardwalk area will be much nicer and easier to traverse for locals and travelers alike.
