Integrated Casino Resorts Operations Certificate Program Graduates First Class
Along with the career fair this month, New Jersey has been steadily offering individuals employment options in the casino industry. On March 5th, the first graduating class of the Integrated Casino Resorts Operations Certificate program was announced, with 23 students involved.
The program is offered at the Lloyd D. Levinson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality, and Tourism (LIGHT) and is featured at Stockton University. It lasts eight weeks and provides students with various learning opportunities within the casino industry.
The program aims to help students learn more about how New Jersey casinos operate. Each week, the course has a single focus: slot games, regulation, table games, marketing, and food and beverage.
The program is for employees already involved in the industry who want to learn how to take on higher roles in management, supervising, or executive capacities. With certification, individuals can pursue even more employment opportunities within the industry.
LIGHT plans to offer the program again next year, as it was such a success this time. The goal is to provide certifications for anyone interested in the gambling industry.
There are also considerations on the table for additional certifications from the School of Business at Stockton. Two programs are currently offered: the Integrated Casino Resort Operations option and the Certified Tourism Industry Professional certificate. The second certification allows individuals to learn more about the hospitality and leisure sectors of the industry.
New Jersey continues to be a leader in the gaming industry, so it is not surprising that the sector is focused on education and learning. We expect more learning opportunities to arise in the future, allowing individuals to find more employment and move up to new positions at Atlantic City casinos.
