The NJSCOOP is an annual event on PokerStars NJ that has been running since 2016. This year, however, there are more tournaments and more opportunities for players to win. PokerStars MI just recently kicked off its first-ever MISCOOP which also takes place in May while the PA SCOOP is already running for the second time on PokerStars PA.
Buy-in, Game Types, and Events
The NJSCOOP provides players with three different buy-ins for each scheduled event – Low, Medium, and High. All 55 events on the schedule add up to 165 distinct tournaments running for 17 days.
Buy-ins for NJSCOOP events are considerably set from $5 and $10 up to a couple of $500 events. The majority of events are no limit hold’em but there are several Omaha events to look forward to with both no-limit Omaha hi-lo and pot-limit Omaha represented.
Tournaments feature different structures, table sizes, and stack depth including progressive knockout bounty events. There is also a heads-up event that will play out on three different days in which players will participate in three different tiers of the tournament.
Tournament Highlights include several multiple events.
- Event #2-H — $200 NLHE 8-Max, Progressive KO, Bigstack, $20K guaranteed. (May 8)
- Event #7-H — $500 NLHE, $15K guaranteed. (May 9)
- Event #7-M — $200 NLHE 8-Max, Jersey Special, $35K guaranteed. (May 9)
- Event #29-H — $250 NLHE 8-Max, Half Price Jersey Special, High Roller, $15K guaranteed. (May 16)
- Event #29-M — $100 NLHE 8-Max, Half Price Jersey Special, $35K guaranteed. (May 16)
NJSCOOP Main Event will take place Sunday, May 23, and will include the following high roller events
- Event #51-H — $500 NLHE 8-Max, Jersey Special, High Roller, $20K guaranteed.
- Event #51-M — $300 NLHE 8-Max, Main Event – Mid, $100K guaranteed.
- Event #51-L — $50 NLHE 8-Max, Main Event, Mini, $10K guaranteed.
PokerStars NJ will run numerous satellites and provide freerolls giving players inexpensive ways to join in on the fun. There will a daily Second Chance Freerolls where the prizes are up to $1,000 in NJSCOOP tournament tickets
Also, the NJSCOOP Depositor Freeroll will kick off on May 23. Players that deposit $30 or more from now till May 23 using the “NJSCOOP” bonus code will earn sets at the tournament. The top 50 finishers in the Freeroll will win entries into the $300 Main Event taking place on May 24.
PokerStars NJ Aims to Improve Tournament Series
NJSCOOP features more events than ever before and with bigger prizes up for grabs. Looking at the previous tournament, it is easy to understand why PokerStars NJ is improving its offers and tournament events.
The PokerStars NJ Winter Series which took place in January featured 40 tournaments with $500,000 guaranteed. Players crossed the mark with wins of over $640,000.
The PokerStars NJ Bounty Builder Series ran through February and March featuring 58 tournaments with $650,000 in guaranteed wins. Ultimately, players won over $700,000 in the series.
NJSCOOP features 165 tournaments with $1.2 million in guaranteed wins making it bigger than the previous series both in the number of tournaments and in the prizes awarded.
